2024 New Year Resolutions for Single Moms

I love the fresh start of a new year. I also really love goals. Do you have your 2024 New Year Resolutions set? Not sure where to start? I have some ideas for you!

Treat yourself regularly

Sometimes as single moms we forget to treat ourselves. Think about how much time and money you spend treating others. We buy our kids a special treat. Then we take a friend out to dinner. Or perhaps we throw our mom a birthday party. But when was the last time you treated yourself? In 2024, let’s make it a habit! So maybe you buy the pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing. Perhaps you indulge in brunch with your bestie. Whatever you choose, enjoy the treat!

Prioritize time spent alone

Moms just wanna be alone sometimes. I’ll even go further and say moms need to be alone sometimes especially if you’re a single mom. Make alone time a priority in 2024. Even if it just means starting with 15mins in the morning and 15mins at night. This doesn’t mean in the shower or brushing your teeth. I mean alone time where you spend it recharging and resting. Alone time where you rebalance yourself. Take time to be alone.

Proactively address signs of your distress

I will be the first to admit: I am one to ignore the signs that my mind and/or body is in distress. Headache? I’ll shrug it off. Stressed? Power through. Does this sound familiar? If you’re like me you ignore the signs until you’re sick, exhausted, or in need of a nap that lasts all day. Part of my 2024 New Year Resolutions is to be proactive about signs of distress. Let’s not ignore what our body and mind are telling us.

Go on a solo vacation

GO ON THE SOLO VACATION. I cannot stress enough how amazing it can be. It doesn’t have to break your bank. It doesn’t have to be for days. Your solo vacation can be 24hrs in a hotel alone. But having a solo vacation is one of the best things I have done for myself. Whether you spend it at the museum you’ve been dying to visit or lavishly relaxing in your room is up to you. But take the solo vacation.

Happy New Year!
