Black Owned Brands To Fall In Love With

February is Black History Month! Valentine’s Day is a week away! What better way to celebrate both than with five black owned brands to fall in love with! Below is a list of five of my personal favorite black owned brands. Feel free to explore their sites and products or even buy something for yourself or a loved one.

Black Owned Brands To Fall In Love With

Harlem Candles

According to their website, “The Harlem Candle Co. is a luxury home fragrance brand specializing in scented candles inspired by the richness of Harlem. Founded in 2014 by travel and lifestyle expert Teri Johnson, the Harlem Candle Company is the manifestation of her love affair with fragrance, jazz, and Harlem.”

These candles have been featured in The Oprah Magazine, on the Today Show, and inside of Vogue. They are beautifully made and smell wonderful! If you’re looking to have a sample, consider buying a few travel sizes. My personal favorite is the Lady Day candle!

Aaronya Paints

I stumbled upon Aaronya while scrolling through Instagram and immediately fell in love with his work. He began painting during the COVID pandemic in May 2020. Three years and 134K followers on Instagram later, Aaronya has a collection of framed art, digital prints, posters, and even a digital planner! The framed poster in the picture above is called PROTECT and it’s one of my first and favorite pieces from Aaronya!

Jazz Moné Mugs

Jazz Moné is another one of those Instagram finds! She’s an influencer, content creator, podcaster, business owner, and by far one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram. Her mugs like the one shown above has caught the eye of many including Cardi B! Her mugs are beautifully designed with plenty of positive words to boost your daily motivation.

Blk & Bold Coffee

Blk & Bold coffee may have started in a garage in 2018, but it is quickly on the path of becoming a household name. Founders Rod Johnson and Pernell Cezar have collaborated with Ben&Jerry’s, the NBA, and Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. They also give back with 5% of their profits going to supporting programs for youth in need on a local and national level. You can find their products in over 5,000 retail locations as well as on Amazon and Target. Their Rise & Grind medium roast ground coffee is one of the best parts of my morning routine!

Embellished Caps

I love me some Real Housewives of Potomac. But when cast-member Robyn Dixon released her Embellished satin hats, I was a bit skeptical. I didn’t want to get caught up in the hype of a product based on someone’s celebrity status. However, I have to say, Embellished is one of those black owned brands to fall in love with. The satin lining keeps hair from breakage and the prints are cute! She also carries beanies as well but her Black on Black Excellence cap will forever be one of my favorites!
